jazz is smoothing my soul, letting me regain the feeling of being part of the world and even the cosmos again while modern commercial music makes me feel remote and sort of being a forgotten fossil.
jazz is a real remedy and a cherished gift. being a little kid i started off with stan and ollie, charlie chaplin and a scientific entertaining television show all of them in parts being accompanied by different types of jazz music.
up to the end of my teens i tried to watch as many black & white movies as i could as there was always a guarantee to meet up with jazz music.
if there was any sense in meeting and going out with this driving instructor it was that he opened up the world of "obtainable" jazz music to me - in fact i had no idea that one could still buy jazz music....
what fascinates me - it`s maybe not only the music - it`s the style and fashion of times gone by, even if retro-rised from time to time. it`s an image of a time when there was style, taste and a lot of good music around, being daily broadcasted - at least that`s my illusion of it..;-) or maybe it`s not just an illusion, who knows? when i was watching these films regularly i always felt that i was alive in the thirties and fourties and as i have an unexplainable and extraordinary fear of the sound of bomber squads and sirens, for a long time i sort of supposed being killed in war times.

jazz also accompanied all serious relationships - you can`t tell by the look if someone loves jazz, as it turned out - it happened somehow.

jazz is a great happy go lucky, lifting spirits to a good mood or even more - creativeness of all kinds and a smile on your face.
